The only two other courses I took this semester were Environmental Geology, and U.S. Economic History. There is a lot about these three classes that intertwines the basic knowledge to understand an assignment thoroughly. The last assignment about urbanization quickly reminded me about my economic class. I decided to pick New York City’s population density of a congested area. When I had to research the landmark events to make my graph, I closely related the population numbers to the 19th and 20th centuries. Mainly, because during The Great Depression, population stayed the same for about that time frame. I understood why in a deeper way. This class also closely relates to my Environmental Geology class, because of the counter-urbanization and reurbanization. We learned about the environmental quality and how homes are becoming built in hazardous spots due to overpopulation and housing budgets. There’s a lot that I learned from this class individually as well. There are many ways to look at Geography. And how our world of geography is actually becoming more digital. Esri, ArcGIS, GPS, and Google Earth! That is the most fascinating part of this class. I am excited to learn more about geography through the geospatial programs and software. |
